Wood Tibetan
i own a 5ft+ hard wood Tibetan Buddha and i wish to know where would be best to try and sell this item.?
the buddha is made from hardwood but it does have some damage to the face. the right hand points up and the left hand points down. i was told that on flogit recently a 3ft one sold for £3000 but i dont know where it was sold at as i did not see the programe myself but a friend who has seen mine did. i would be gratefull for any help. thanks.
There seems to be a good market for statues of the Buddha on eBay. A statue the size of yours would be fairly unique and rare, in my experience on eBay, and you should be able to get a good price for it.
You can offer it through an auction or a “buy now” process in which the price is fixed. If you auction it, you can set a minimum price.
Another alternative would be to contact the Tibetan Buddhist centers near you and see if they would be interested in purchasing it. In the U.S., people sometimes make gifts of objects such as this to Buddhist centers, in return for a letter acknowledging the donation – which can then be used to offset taxes. Perhaps the same system applies in the U.K. (if that’s where you are). You could also create a part payment/part donation arrangement that would give you both cash and a tax deduction.
