Gourd Vases
does anyone know how to make a gourd vase?
i saw it on the cover of a fall decorating magazine. they had flowers inside of a typical autumn gourd (round bottom, long stem). the article said to just cut off the top and stick them in. the gourd i tried wasn’t hollow. i’m not sure if i have to wait for them to dry and hollow or if i was looking at the wrong kind.
You have to carve out a space in the gourd. I’m going to use a small pumpking carving knife. I’ve heard that you can also “waterproof” the inside of the gourd, but I assume that’s if you need it to last a very long time.
Here’s a link to a webpage on how to do it. http://www.parents.com/holiday/thanksgiving/crafts/gorgeous-gourds/
